Goa, once the capital of an empire, has bequeathed us a rich heritage of vibrant colours, aromas, flavours, images and beliefs that transcend our imagination.  In search of this legacy, I set off for Goa, but the experience was much more than I could expect.

Its ancient churches and other places of worship all display a captivating beauty, offering a unique and transcendent peace that goes beyond the spirituality to which they are dedicated.  The stately homes, full of history, detail and emotion, resemble noble ladies, majestic and impassive, full of art and memories.  The alleys of Velha Goa, Pangim, Margão and the neighbourhood of Fontaínhas all breathe and offer us a vibrant and almost magnetic heritage, which touches the soul and invites us to go beyond the historical and cultural memories that memory won’t allow us to forget.  In this spirit, I’m sharing some of the many images I took there, but I’m aware that much more remains to be discovered.
