Exhibition & Seminar: The Rehearsal of Space

By Edgar A. B. Martins

Event Date: 9th — 23rd September, 2004

The Center for Creative Industries is proud to present a one-day round-table forum and exhibition investigating the tentacular modern city as a phenomenon of human drama and romantic myth, and the spectacular changes in human perception and representational practices that it induces.

Seminar

Venue: Macau Art Museum, Auditorium, 1/F
Date : Sept 11, 2004. Saturday

In “Black Holes & Other Inconsistencies”, urbanism is portrayed as a movement of isolation.
It is the setting for spatial and temporal dislocation.
In “Black Holes & Other Inconsistencies”, the photographer operates within a landscape of uncertainty, within a culture landscape of permanent flux, transition and opposition.
Spaces are primed with a sense of purpose yet they are marginal, fragment and dispersed.

Exhibition
Venue: Creative Macau
Date: Sept 9~23, 2004.

“The Rehearsal of Space” explores the concept of space as an idea and a form and summons a disquieting conjunction of reality, hyper-reality, fantasy and fiction.
