“Human Presence” photography exhibition by Halftone

Event Date: 12th April — 5th May, 2026
The “Human Presence” photography exhibition is a project by Halftone – Macau Photographic Association, established in Macau SAR in 2021.
This exhibition brings together the visual works of fourteen members of the association, residing either in Macao or Portugal: Carmen Serejo, Cristiana Figueiredo, Elói Scarva, Francisco Ricarte, Henry – Chao Kai Hang, Inela Kovacevic, João Palla, João Rato, João Van-Zelst, Jorge Veiga Alves, José Neves, José Sales Marques, Miguel Quental and Sara Augusto. The artists offer their interpretation of the theme, contributing to a rich and visually diverse collection.
The fourteen photographers explore their understanding of “Human Presence” within societies characterized by a variety of cultural expressions and representations. Their focus ranges from the individuality of the human figure to the ways in which individuals belong to communities, environments, or urban landscapes. The exhibition embraces this diversity through a broad visual and aesthetic spectrum, featuring traditional, contemporary, and conceptual photography, both in Black and White and in colour. The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the importance of “Human Presence” in shaping societies and cultural identities. Through a wide array of photographic series and individual images, the audience is encouraged to value the many forms of expression that contribute to our communities and heritage.
Sincere thanks are extended to Creative Macau for providing the opportunity to present this exhibition.
