Maria Elisa da Rocha Vilaça — A Portuguese educator, artist and puppetry specialist based in Macao, she is currently the Principal of the School of Arts and Crafts at House of Portugal in Macau, with 40 years’ teaching experience and a rich artistic background (spanning jewellery, ceramics and sculpture, amongst others). As a member of the CPM, she is dedicated to promoting the art of puppetry through her collection of over a thousand puppets. She has spearheaded the design and creation of numerous children’s and giant puppet shows, with her works having featured on several occasions in Macau Government parades and toured extensively in countries including Portugal, France, China and Brazil. In recent years, she has actively developed eco-friendly art projects by incorporating natural elements and recycled materials.
