André Lui

Andre Lui chak keong, architect, a specialist on cultural heritage, visual artist Born in Macao and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Universidade Tecnica, Lisbon in 1999, Andre Lui worked for the famous Portuguese architect Manuel Vicente in Lisbon and also worked for Architecture Studio, a top architecture and design company in Paris. He participated in the project for a Portuguese Chinese Friendship Monument in Macao, which was designed by a Portuguese sculptor, Domingos Soares Branco. Between 2000 and 2003, he worked as architect in the Culture Institute of Macao S.A.R. From 2003 to 2005, he took and completed a specialist study on cultural heritage (conservation and reuse of ancient buildings and historical center) in Centre des Hautes Etudes des Chaillot, Paris and obtained the professional qualification of Architect du Patrimoine in France. In 2006 he opened his own studio in Macao.

Besides architecture, Andre Lui is interested in a lot of visual art activities. He practices namely painting, installation, photography, and video, and he participated in many collective and individual exhibitions.
