Inspiration for my paintings often comes from dreams I had. I always have vivid dreams about traveling into strange places that doesn’t exist in the real world, and I would paint what I saw in my dreams. Currently I’m working on large scale canvas, it allows me to include more details into the painting, to better create a scene. In my work there is usually an eccentric character with big eyes, multiple layers of colours in the background, and more eyes. I am obsessed with eyes. Having been born without my left forearm, I have been on a life-long journey of self-discovery and acceptance. And while my parents showered me with love and affection, I was quiet and shy growing up. When I was younger, I didn’t like talking to people as I was afraid of getting hurt. I tended to stay away from people and did a lot of drawing. Drawing was a means of escape for me.
