Chelsia Ng

Chelsia Ng, is now seventeen years old. She has been painting since she was six, so that’s ten years now. She’s learned several types of painting: She started with oil pastels – the colours were bright and eye-catching. – Later, She learned sketching, practicing how to observe shapes and light/shadow. – Then came coloured pencil sketching , learning to build up colour in layers. – As she got older, she tried technical pen drawing, which requires a lot of patience. – Now, she mainly work with watercolour – she love its fluid and transparent feel. For me, painting is truly enjoyable. Finishing a piece she’s happy with gives her a real sense of accomplishment and brightens my whole day. However, she think the best part is actually the process of creating. When she focus on her work, the world seems to quiet down. It feels relaxing, reduces her stress, and is a form of rest for me. And within that whole drawing process, ¼adding colour¼ is definitely the part she look forward to and enjoy the most Watching the line drawing gradually fill with different colours and seeing the tones blend and change – that process itself is incredibly enjoyable and satisfying.
