Sofia Bobone

Graduated in IADE – Instituto de Arte Design e Empresa – in Lisbon 1989.

In her first working years, Sofia worked in Portugal as graphic designer in corporate design and advertising, winning several prizes. In Macau since 1997, she started lecturing at Macau Polytechnic Institute (MPI) in the Communication Design Course. After that she was responsible for the graphic dept. in MPI followed by the Institute of European Studies of Macau. In 2000, Sofia post graduated in Management of Arts what led her to work as the coordinator of the Cultural Affairs Department of Orient Institute (IPOR) where, among others, she organized exhibitions, shows and seminars. During the Portuguese presidency of the EU, she was responsible for the European Film Festival of Hong Kong and Macau.

Since 2008, Sofia started working as a product designer, first creating home décor objects and lastly jewelry. She joined ANOUK being responsible not only for the jewels design but also for their entire brand image such as the website, packaging, ads and all the merchandizing.

She is also the co-founder of Macau BannerBag, a recycling company created in 2005, dedicated to transforming used outdoor banners in bags and other everyday use products. She designed all of its products and image.

In 2013 she began to paint and draw, attending various workshops organized by the Macao Museum of Art and the House of Portugal.

In 2014 she was invited to create / decorate a horse for the ‘Chinese New Year Horse Parade’ organized by the Venetian Macau. Using wires Sofia designed a winged horse.

Currently divides her time between the fine arts and freelance work in graphic design and jewelry.During the second semester of 2015 Sofia is the guest artist of the Orient Foundation working in their Macau headquarters.
